The Migration is rated as one of the world's most spectacular natural events - every year over a million wildebeest, zebra and antelope migrate clockwise around the Serengeti-Masai Mara ecosystem, taking in two different countries and making time for birthing, courting and mating on the way. But the trouble with the Wildebeest Migration is that if you get your timing wrong, you will end up gazing out over a wildebeest-less savannah and wondering where all the animals went. You need to work out where to go and when.

Arrive in Tanzania - Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon your arrival into Kilimanjaro Airport and after clearing customs and immigration, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to the lodge for overnight. Dinner and overnight at the African Tulip Hotel.
Lake Manyara National Park

This morning we drive through Arusha, Tanzania's safari capital, to Lake Manyara. Much of the northern part of the park is fed by underground water from the Ngorongoro Highlands and as a result is covered in dense forest vegetation, giving the appearance of a tropical jungle. This forest is ideal habitat for elephant, bushbuck, blue monkey, and huge troops of olive baboon. Some parts are dry bush land attracting zebra, impala and giraffe, while the lakeshore provides another habitat, perfect for flamingos and other shore birds. Dinner and overnight at Bougan Villea Lodge.
Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti National Park

We will leave this morning on our way to Ngorongoro Crater for full day game drive (1½ hrs drive from the Bouganvillea Lodge). Our drive takes us up to the rim of the Crater; we will descend more than 2,000 feet on steep tracks cut into the crater wall to reach the open plains of the Crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is undoubtedly the best place in Tanzania to view black rhino as well as large prides of lion that include magnificent black-manned males. It is also home to huge herds of wildebeest and zebra and many other plains game, such as Thomson's gazelle. An alkaline lake in the floor of the Crater provides a habitat for colorful flamingo and a variety of other water birds. Massive bull elephants feed in the swamps, some adorned with enormous tusks. Later in the afternoon proceed to Serengeti Savannah Camp for Dinner and overnight For some of these early morning adventures, your camp chef will have prepared your breakfast; and at a morning’s stop in the bush, your guide will serve it to you. On other mornings you will return to camp for breakfast. After lunch and your mid-day relaxation in camp, with the herds of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra nearby, you will venture again in the Serengeti wilderness until returning at sunset to your camp. There will be a campfire where you can meet to discuss the activities of the day and what is planned for the next day. Close the day with a wonderful meal in a spectacular setting. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Savannah Camp.
Full Day Spent at Serengeti National Park

Venture out on morning and afternoon game drives in the protected Serengeti refuge, where flowing rivers support a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. In addition to the “Big Five” (lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards and rhinos), keep your camera handy for a cheetah bolting after a fleet Thomson’s gazelle. Enjoy ideal game viewing throughout your time in the bush. Meals and accommodation at Serengeti Savannah Camp

End of Safari / Kia Lodge / Depart

Today you will have a leisurely breakfast and then start the drive to Arusha through the Great Rift Valley, close to Lake Manyara and arrive in Arusha in time for lunch. After lunch there will be time for shopping before the trip to the airport for your departure. Day use room at Kia Lodge ( On request )
