Rwanda is a green undulating landscape of hills, gardens and tea plantations. It offers visitors a one of a kind journey as it home to one third of the world’s remaining Mountain Gorillas, one third of Africa’s birds species, several species of primates, volcanoes, game reserves, resorts and islands on the expansive Lake Kivu, graceful dancers, artistic crafts and friendly people.
A visit to Rwanda is not complete without tracking the famous mountain gorillas, but though this is an undeniably wonderful experience there is a great deal more to the country and it is well worth spending a few extra days to experience it all. A couple of days of gorilla tracking is ideal and can easily be combined with some time in Kigali, relaxing along the shores of Lake Kivu or chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest.
