Nairobi National Park (4 hours) & Daphne Sheldrick Baby Elephant Orphanage
Nairobi National Park is a unique and unspoilt wildlife haven within the sight of the city’s skyline. Nairobi National Park, the only park that borders a capital city. Wide open grass, scattered acacia bush play host to a wide variety of wildlife including four members of the big five, exceptional being the elephant. Animals to be found here include; endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffalos, giraffes, wildebeests, and diverse bird –life (Approximately 520 species recorded).
The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is a small flexible charity, established in memory of David Sheldrick, famous Naturalist and founder Warden of Kenya's giant Tsavo East National Park in which he served from 1948 until 1976. You can visit between 11am and 12 noon every day, and see the elephants being fed and playing. In addition, there is a keeper who will give a talk about the elephants, where they came from, how they are getting on, and how some of the previous orphans are progressing. You can get really close to the elephants. The orphanage also takes in rhinos and so if you are lucky you will get the chance to see a young rhino.

Karen Blixen Museum, the farmhouse was originally the home of Karen Blixen and coffee plantation during her time in Kenya from the 1910s to the 1930s and belongs to a different period of time in Kenya's history. The site gained international fame with the release of the movie Out of Africa, an Oscar-winning film based on her memoir by the same title. As you walk through the museum, you can see original furnishings and props from the film. The museum shop sells handicrafts, posters, postcards, the movie, books, and other Kenyan souvenirs. You are met at JKIA airport / your hotel in Nairobi briefed thereafter.

0730hrs – 1030hrs: Nairobi National Park Tour
1100hrs - 1200hrs: Visit the David Sheldrick Elephant orphanage, where young orphaned elephants are brought after being rescued and fed till they are mature to be released to the wild.
1200hrs -1300hrs: Visit the Giraffe Centre where you feed the friendly Rothchilds Giraffe. They accept a kiss as they pick their food from your palms! Stop over at some shopping areas enroute.
1300hrs -1400hrs: Lunch at Carnivore.
1400 -1500hrs: Visit the Karen Blixen museum, the house in the movie out of Africa. Visit the Kazuri beads enroute.
1500hrs - 1700hrs: Visit Bomas of Kenya Traditions and dances
1730hrs: Drop at Airport for onward flight / your hotel for a deserved rest.

Sheldrick's Baby Elephant Orphanage, Karen Blixen and Giraffe Centre - 6 hours
Pick up from your hotel at 10am. Drive towards the Nairobi National Park to Sheldrick Baby Elephant Orphanage which is open 1 hr daily. You can visit between 11am and 12 noon every day, and see the elephants being fed and playing. In addition, there is a keeper who will give a talk about the elephants, where they came from, how they are getting on, and how some of the previous orphans are progressing. You can get really close to the elephants. The orphanage also takes in rhinos and so if you are lucky you will get the chance to see a young rhino. Continue to the Karen Blixen Museum, for many years was her home. Later proceed to the Giraffe Centre to see and hand feed the famous endangered species of Rothschild Giraffe and her family. Return to the hotel at approximately 3pm.

10:45am: Arrive at the Daphne Sheldrick orphanage shelter
11:00am: Start of the Public viewing of the baby elephants at the Nairobi Elephant orphanage
12:00pm: End of the public viewing and lecture on baby elephants.
12:15pm: Depart the Daphne Sheldrick elephant orphanage for the Karen Blixen Museum

Full Daytour to Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru is one of the most popular parks for bird watching and it’s known as the biggest bird spectacle in the world with more than 2 million flamingos. The Daytrip to Lake Nakuru will bring you to see the many birds in this park and visit the many special sites. There are many animals in Nakuru Wildlife Park including rhinos, hippos, buffalos, lions, leopards, giraffes, gazelles, impala, baboons and many others. The roads to Nakuru Animal Park are well graded and its close enough to Nairobi for a day trip. Nakuru national park 1 safari departs Nairobi by 6:00am and gets to the pack by 9:00am in time for a Nakuru 1 day game drive.
6:00am: Our guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel for the tour.
7:30am: Scheduled stop at the Great Rift Valley view point to look into the valley from the escarpment to see the Mt Longonot, Mt suswa, the rift valley floor, lake Naivasha and the hot geysers of hells gate.
9:00am: Arrive at Nakuru national park full day game drive. Start the game drive around the lake to see great white pelicans, flamingos, ibis, jacana, plovers, storks, herons and many others. Go to the baboon cliff to have a bird’s eye view of the lake. Enjoy game driving until lunch hour.
1:00pm: Enjoy a picnic lunch from the makalia waterfalls camping site under the most wonderful waterfall. You will be in good company of some wildlife at the quiet and scenic campsite.
2:00pm: Continue with your Nakuru game drive in the park to see the hundreds of animals in the savannah, the acacia woodland and the swamps around the lake.
3:00pm: Depart the Nakuru game park after an hour’s game drive and exit concluding your 1 day Nakuru trip.
6:00pm: Arrive in Nairobi and you are dropped off in your hotel in Nairobi or at the JKIA Nairobi airport for your evening flight. End of your Nakuru one day transit safari tour.
